First impression: repulsive!

I got a big packet of stuff from the university today, including a pamplet about "Fresher's Week" with a list of activities going on.

On one side are a bunch of okay things... moving-in weekend, information for international students, sports things. On the other side are a bunch of "cool" things to do, may of which I found disgusting. Almost all of them involve alchohol, which I will admit a personal bias to. That, and I still consider myself underage, even if I'm not over here. Two of the things that really caught my eye: One, a political debate about why Americans should "just stay at home" because "they can do no right in international affairs." Wow, sound like that one would be good for an American transfer student. Two, a "challenge" that involves people getting covered in syrup and sugar puffs and sent to go get some chips. And of course there are the usual comments about how only losers would skip out on the great events.

Oh look, I'm already a loser and I haven't even set foot at the school yet. It's gonna be a long year, I'm thinking. *cries*

sounds fun/weird/crazy except for the bad times drinking-ness. That debate should be very interesting and really scary, start working on that accent. :P

have fun being actually somewhere else for college! (unlike me, haha)

by the way, I love how you called them "chips". so festive.

Heh. Even if I managed the accent, I'd still screw up 'cause I don't know enough non-American slang. Except things like.... chips. And "poof" but I don't think that'll do me a lot of good.

I really wish I *wasn't* somewhere else for college. I'll trade you!
