I've discovered a vasty amusing way to keep myself productive: I simply figure out one thing I need to do, such as an essay, and then I find something else I can do instead, like the dishes. Eventually, I will find something I want to do less than the essay, and go get it done (usually with a good hour to spare before it's due!).
